Operating Highlights:

Sales for the Q1 of FY 08-09 is Rs.
77.87 crores, representing a growth of 46.9% over the previous years’
first Quarter of Rs. 53.00 crores.

Exports increased by over 3 times
during Q1of FY 2008-09 to Rs. 20.21 crores when compared to the previous
year’s first quarter of Rs. 6.36 crores.

Profit after tax increased by 67% from
3.08 crores to Rs.5.15 crores during Q1 of Financial Year 2008-09.

The EPS for the Q1 of 08-09 stands @ Rs.
7.95 crores when compared to Q1 of previous year @ Rs. 4.75 showing a growth
of 67%.

Methyl and Ethyl amines plants revamped
during the previous year which resulted in increased capacity & sales for
this quarter and also results in better realization for the future.
Establishing Captive power plant of 2.5 MW
at Unit-I which will save in cost of power & fuel by around Rs. 3.00 crores
per annum which will be operational from October, 2008.
NMP plant revamped and increased capacity
by 100%.

on the results and other developments for the first quarter of 2008-09,
Mr. A. Prathap Reddy, Managing Director said, “We are delighted about the fact
that we have posted phenomenal growth for the first quarter of 2008-09.
Research and Development is the key area being focused and we have been
working towards launch of new hi-tech products which are first of its kind in
India.
The markets we address are high growth
areas and hence we see a considerable growth in demand of our products. The
enhanced capacities and launch of new products is expected to add a new
dimension to the growth strategy and we expect this to grow multifold in the
coming years.

Methyl Amines Plant re-vamped, increases production capacity by 30%
Balaji Amines Limited (BAL) (NSE: BALAMINES, BSE: 530999), has today announced that it has revamped its Methyl Amines plant by adding the balancing equipments. This re-vamping has resulted in increase of its production capacity by 30% which will increase the Top line by about 15% and contribute to the Bottom line as well.
The Company has also announced that its Morpholine plant, which started full stream from this financial year, has stabilized and the product is being widely accepted by its major customers. Morpholine is being manufactured by BAL for the first time in India through new Process developed in its in House R & D.

BONUS ISSUE :
Share holders of the company have approved the Board's proposal for issue of Bonus Shares at 1:1 ratio. The board has been authorized to fix the record date in the ensuing Board Meeting, subject to 'In Principle' approval of Bombay Stock Exchange for issue of Bonus Shares.

1. The Board of Directors have recommended issue of Bonus Shares in the ratio of 1:1 subject to approval of Members.
2. The sales have increased by 43.36% to Rs. 101.96 Cr. For Half Year Ended Sept. 2006 as against Rs. 71.09 Cr. For Half Year Ended Sept. 2005.
3. The Net Profit is up by 78.75% to Rs. 10.03 Cr. For Half Year Ended Sept. 2006 as against Rs. 5.61 Cr. For Half Year Ended Sept. 2005.
4. Annualised EPS increased to Rs. 30.96 for Half Year Ended Sept. 2006 as against Rs. 10.92 for Half Year Ended Sept. 2005.
Our company has entered into Strategic Arrangement with BASF for next two years.
Our company will supply the N-Methyl-2Pyrrolidone (NMP) to BASF and its Associates at a price mutually agreed from time to time for next two years. An Agreement has been signed to this effect between us and BASF.
The BASF has also agreed to supply one of the Raw Material i.e. Gama Butyrolactone for next two years at a mutually agreed price from time to time.

Balaji Amines acquires Bhagyanagar Chemicals:
BALAJI AMINES LIMITED (BAL), has acquired major equity of Bhagyanagar Chemicals Ltd., (BCL), Hyderabad.( BCL), a 10 year old company, having the manufacturing facilities of various products. BAL set up NATURAL PRODUCTS (HERBAL EXTRACTS) DIVISION at the premisesof BCL as a Strategic Business Unit.
BAL has been consistently adding capacities and fine- tuning processes from time to time. Today BAL is having a capacity of 18000 MTPA of METHYL AMINES, 3000MTPA of ETHYL AMINES & 13000MTPA of INTERMEDIATES. BAL`s products are accepted in International Market and have gained the distinct Export Quality Status. Last year, BAL has been awarded the “ONE STAR EXPORT HOUSE” status by the ministry of commerce, Govt.of India. BAL has achieved one more milestone by getting RECOGNITION OF IN HOUSE R & D UNIT being certified by Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt., of India.
BAL has recently developed and launched two new products namely N-METHYL – 2 – PYRROLIDONE & MORPHOLINE. Both the products are import substitutes, which are being manufactured first time in India. The company has set up a totally dedicated plant at Solapur – Maharashtra to manufacture these products with a capacity 3000 MTPA & 2000 MTPA repectively. The company is successfully running the plant of CHOLINE CHLORIDE (Solutions & Solid) with a capacity of 5000 MTPA.
